Elbow, Hand & Wrist Pain

Elbow, Hand & Wrist PainjonSeptember 14, 2020January 12, 2021

Physiotherapists rely on our hands. We understand the importance of good elbow, wrist and hand function.

The elbow and wrist are vulnerable to overuse injuries. The two most common causes are ongoing overload usually related to repetitive work duties or a burst of unusual activity, such as landscaping or renovating. Sometimes tennis and golf are the actual cause of tennis or golfer’s elbow.

Ligament injuries can be the result of trauma, repetitive activity or ageing.

Wrist and hand pain often require a splint to allow healing, settle inflammation and stabilise an injury before restoring mobility and strength.

We treat fractures with casting and apply manual therapy and prescribe exercise in the rehabilitation period.
